STRONG SCIENCE EXPOSURE

 

Dr. Layfield has a background in Science and Engineering. His PhD was obtained ininstrumentation in developing a carbon dioxide laser radar system for monitoring trace gases andatmospheric pollutants. He was subsequently employed by the British Aerospace Company inthe UK prior to his employment in Hong Kong. His work within the Future Projects group of BAE involved the investigation of advanced computing technology for new avionics systems inmilitary aircraft including computer generated imagery and virtual reality to assist pilots flying atlow altitude in conditions of low visibility, and fault tolerant computing systems.
